OK OK so i know i'm hittin ya'll with a lot of posts today, but whatever. IT'S MY JOURNAL NOT YOURS! lol. So alot of people been coming to work with these shoes in, I think they're dope. Some of my friends think they're weird, and da misses makes fun of me for liking em lol but I'm coppin I pair this weekend YA HEARD ME lol. They're sports performance kicks for running, hiking, weightlifting, climbing, water sports, pilates, the list goes on. I'm always active with track, weightlifting, and preparing to be a strength & conditioning coach so they should be perfect for me. I even tried a pair on after work and I loved em. Check it...

The Uncle Tom

Ok so the spot that I'm interning at, has a lot of wealthy clientele, willing to pay large sums of money to allow us to make them stronger, faster, jump farther, whatever whatever. So as you'd guess (not to downplay my own people) not many black people come through, and the one's that do are often the children of professional athletes, or those who's families have relocated to better neighborhoods for their families (mmore power to em). But I digress, so this brotha comes through today, he's been coming here since before i started working, and all of the trainers know him. So I'm like cool, another brotha that made it and has the money to pay for this kinda thing, I'm all for it. Then he starts to talk, and if I didn't know better I'd swear he was from Wisconsin or Minnesota. Whatever, i brush it off like, he probably grew up in/or around a white community so I brush it off.

                       But then whenever he's doing a lift or a workout some of the coaches are clowning him, or just playing him in different ways. Mind you he doesn't have much rhythm, form, or general mechanics, but he can do the workouts. But then the clients start to get into it and what not, even the girls. Some even called him chocolate, or black lightning SMH. They never talk like that around me (then again a few of my white friends say I have the typical angry black man face lmao). But what makes it worse is that he's agreeing with them on the jokes and trying to get in their conversations and at one point they said "this is an A and B convo, blah blah" you know how it goes. And I'm like, come on man you can't let it go down like this.

                         And before ya'll get to thinkin stuff like i'm racist or I shouldn't think like that, know this, my best friend is Irish and my parents moved my family from a horrible neighborhood in the South Bronx into a decent neighborhood about 45mins away, so I know what da deal is. However i feel like he should've retained a little flavor or black mentality. Not the "I stay in the streets, ima hustler, forget these hoes" type thing, but a strong, intelligent black man's mindset and attitude you know. And i can relate to the man somewhat because I always had a love for skateboarding, extreme sports, and rock music even back when the thought was that a black kid shouldn't like those things. I dunno, I just kinda shaked my head at it. Maybe he coulda clowned them back or just been smoother with things. More power to the man tho cuz i don't wanna sound like a hater. If whatever he's doing is successful he should just keep at it

A Turn Off

Ugghh. I kno to each his/her own, but there's certain things in life that i just don't like. Smoking is one of those things. Never liked it, never engaged in it, never will. For those of u who do, this is just my take on things, how u feel is how u feel. Anyway, there's this girl who always comes by my room looking for my roomate at all times throughout the day. In the AM, in the PM, in the middle of the day, it don't matter. ANd all they ever do together is smoke. Now i'm hella cool wit my roomate and i may not like dat he smokes, but he respects me and don't go hard wit it when i'm in da room, and i respect dat, and him in return. We have mad fun together crackin jokes, playin xbox n watnot.
          But I just can't stand a woman who smokes. Personally I'm already taken (shout outs to da misses) and am not lookin for anyone, nor am I attracted to the girl, but the fact that she just be smoking, ALL DA TIME, just makes me loathe her for sum reason. I realize that she's not hurting anybody, and maybe she just needs to calm he nerves or likes the feeling of smoking but I hate it when a girl engages in the act. A guy doing it isn't much better either, but i'm just so used to woman being such beautiful, elegant creatures and when I see them engaging in a self lowering act such as smoking, I'm just not for it...

So anybody dat know's me, know's I ride for Charles Hamilton to death lol. I love his music. But anyway, i was on worldstar and saw he had a freestyle comin at chris brown, kanye and jay-z. Now i like Chris and kanye's music too but the freestyle was still hot to me. Check it...

Blah

Sooo my 4th of July went like this, woke up late, thought about going to play lasertag but told my friends I wanted to wait for my gf to come up so she could come too, tried to go to da mall b4 it closed at 6 but my one friend who's always late, made us so late that the mall wud be closed be the time we got there, went to go see Adam Sandler's movie "Grownups" (actually pretty funny, i'd see it again), went to the University of Buffalo to see the fireworks which were very nice, then we went to the only strip of exciting life in Buffalo (chippewa street), where we found nothing butt rolling tumbleweeds. SMH. I couldn't believe it was so dull on America's birthday. Nah, I'm using dat as an excuse, I could care less about the 4th of July except for the fireworks. U could say I lack patriotism but I don't really care either ways. Whatever, then we got sum food and watched old Boondocks episode until everyone was tired. I think i have heat rash or sumthing too, i don't kno what it is but it's taking over my triceps, shoulders, and neck. Think i need to see the doctor just in case, SMH. I'm going crazy!!

Self-Discipline and Restraint are Virtues Too

So i worked another 9 hr shift at my internship yesterday again. I now know why so many people are always complaining about how much they hate going to their internships. Taking out garbaes and doing the mediocre jobs when you know you have the skills to do greater things, kinda wears thin on ur nerves. I'm working at a strength and conditioning sports center and don't get me wrong, I got mad love for the facility and the staff that I'm working with, it's top notch and they're helping alot of people, but it's just that I know if they gave me the opportunity to take on some more clients, I could do alot more help.
I only get to really help out the kids, which I'm all for, but even when I'm doing that I'm just an assistant, and the supervisors don't have the exact coordination or perfect lifting mechanics to fully help them. Not saying that I'm perfect, cuz I'm far from it, but I know that i could show them more proper techniques, help them with their coordination, speed and power, better than som of the supervisors can. Sometimes i just wanna step in and be like "look don't listen to him, this is how you should be doing this". But I'm also just a student trying to perfect my craft so I can be so brash. I just want to work with a more mature clientele sometimes. I gotta work my way up the later though, plus it's just an internship so i can't really rush things. Besides patience is a virtue, and I'd like to say that I'm pretty in tune with my values and spirituality, so keeping a sound mind and calm voice would be best for now...
